I believe most in loving what you do. I am very lucky in following through with this belief. What I do is fun. It's not boring. It's always interesting. It also makes one very popular in the family when a poster for the local garage sale is needed or a nice drawing for Uncle Harold's birthday because he's the man who has everything. And it's more than that, too. It's when I can do it very fast and offer it at a cost that will not break anyone's personal bank. I can do logos and all kinds of design-y stuff. I can do caricatures, I can do very state of the art layout and design, I can do cutesy cartoons, and I even can do flash, real art, portraiture and just sketching for the fun of it. That's what this website is all about. It's an unabashed showcase for me; samples of my work, an encouragement for you to view the diversity of my work, and my experience in both commercial graphics and web development work. Here's a sample of my "hobby" work. Drawing memories is a special favorite thing to do... even when they're not my memories!

The homely but comfortable long ago digs of the John T. Gillett Family, circa 1920, an Independence Day gathering. The original is about 2.5' x 2' and depicts the traditional family "get-togethers" that were typical of this large family. The men and boys and their noisy machines, the women and their incredible cooking skills, the teen girls dreaming of going to the dance at the Masonic and the kids just being kids.
